Huehuetepan, a living heritage in the heart of the Veracruz mountains

Finca Huehuetepan , whose original Nahuatl name Huehue-Tecpan means "Palace of the Ancients" , is nestled in the verdant mountains of Cosautlán de Carvajal , in the center of the state of Veracruz.
Exploited by the Valdivia family since 1951, this land is now championed by Carlos Cadena , an emblematic figure in Mexican specialty coffee.

It was in 1978 that Carlos began cultivating coffee on this family finca, initially using the washed process, before exploring natural and then honey processes. This constant quest for precision and consistency has earned him national and international recognition, notably through several awards at the Mexican Cup of Excellence , where he distinguished himself from 2012 onwards and confirmed his expertise until recently in the Experimental Processes category.

A controlled naturalness, a signature of the terroir

This batch comes from a Marsellesa , a variety renowned for its stability and aromatic potential, grown at an altitude of 1,350 meters .
After harvesting, the cherries are processed using a natural process , then slowly dried on African beds , allowing for a progressive aromatic concentration and great clarity in the cup.

The result is a warm, structured and remarkably elegant coffee that fully expresses the richness of its terroir.

Aromatic profile: indulgent, sweet, and subtly spiced

Honey and maple syrup , enveloping and silky
– Ripe cherry , providing a balanced fruity touch
– A delicately spiced finish, reminiscent of cardamom and cinnamon

The cup is round, harmonious , with a marked natural sweetness, a contained acidity and a warm length.
